AAA Academy For Children - Programs

Child CareChild Care

A nurturing environment for children

Parents in today's society need to work or attend school, and their children become latch-key kids at home. Children need a structured environment that provides homework assistance, instills discipline, and promotes self-esteem and the "YES, I CAN!" attitude in their lives. There is one problem, though. Single-income families as well as dual-income families need childcare and after-school care. Many times they cannot logistically or financially work out support networks for their children to participate in socially beneficial programs. AAA Academy can provide a nurturing environment for children attending childcare during the school year and summer months.

Coordinated learning and academic success

AAA Academy will provide standards-based educational services for general and special education students in the areas of English, reading, and mathematics. Instructions are offered by certified teachers and qualified education coaches to enhance learning and support the student's current school curriculum. Additional instructions are offered in computer literacy. Computers are used to complement and enhance the primary areas of study. Our staff partners with parents, teachers, and child-study team members to assure coordinated learning and academic success. Academic enrichment is offered two days per week and through the Saturday Enrichment Camp.

TaekwondoTaekwondo

Traditional Korean martial art

Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art, which means "the art of hand and foot fighting." It combines sharp, strong, angular movements with graceful and free-flowing circular motions to produce a harmonious marriage of beauty and power. Children will learn discipline, respect for their parents, teachers, and others. In addition, they will experience a better sense of self-control and the "YES, I CAN"! attitude.

Charter SchoolCharter School

Accountable for producing results

A charter school is a public school operating under a charter granted by the Commissioner of Education; that is independent of the District Board of Education and that is managed by a Board of Trustees. Charter school legislation was passed to give a choice to all parents for their children's education. The intent of this legislation is to:

  • Improve student learning and achievement;
  • Increase the availability of choices to parents and students when selecting a learning environment;
  • Encourage the use of different and innovative learning methods;
  • Establish a new system of accountability for schools;
  • Make the school a unit for educational improvement;

A charter school establishes new professional opportunities for teachers. Founders of a charter school may be teaching staff members, parents with children attending schools of the district or a combination of both. The following basic guidelines apply to a charter school:

  • Charter schools may not charge tuition;
  • A private or parochial school may not convert to a charter school;
  • A charter school is open to all students on a space-available basis with preference being given to students from the district of residence;
